Where are you from

Mali & Martinique.

How did you start making music?

I’ve been seriously making music for the past year and a half. I moved to Ville St-Laurent two years ago, this place has really inspired me. Rap is the only way I can express myself, when I’m going through things I find refuge in music.

How would you describe your style?

I have a hard time describing my style because I can flow on so many different instrumentals: kompa, dancehall, trap. I don’t wanna put myself in a box, I’m going to make all kinds of songs. The only I can say is that I rap in French.

What do you think of our local rap scene?

Honestly, I like what I’m seeing. In ville Saint-Laurent there is a group called 514 that is making noise here. I like the local scene but I hope it’s going to keep evolving.

What do you think makes us unique?

What’s so cool about Montreal is that there is a mix of everything. A ton of immigrants from around the world and you can feel it in our culture. I think that our music scene is unique because we have the potential of having a bilingual music scene so we should stop constantly looking up to France.

What’s next for you?

Right now the plan is to keep dropping singles and establish myself in the Montreal rap game.
