Where are you from?
The Ivory Coast
How would you describe your style?
I think that my musical style is at the junction of commercial and underground music. It’s where everyone can link up. Whether it’s people in Berlin going out at night or people going out to a hip-hop club, both groups can appreciate my sound.
What sparks your creativity?
Trips, nights out, my friends and mostly love… Finding someone that you really like can be very inspiring. Music is like an escape to me, I have to isolate myself before I start making a song. It’s very introspective, I can’t make any music under pressure or for contracts, if I don’t have the feeling I can’t produce.
On top of being a musician, you’re also a model. Do you think that these two fields are related?
To me, music remains the most important artistic medium because it can touch everyone. Images can also be powerful but sound is what influences the rest.
Who are you listening to right now?.
Right now I’m listening to this French group Paradis, their song Instantané is super representative of my mindset during quarantine.
What’s next for you?
I’m working on music with my cousin Djibril known as Corvus and I am launching a new music duo with a friend named Ian. The duo is named after “spaceb2een”. The EP will be released shortly.
